How to Apply Clear Whiteboard Paint?
Clear dry erase paint is a one-coat specialty coating. For best results, we recommend rolling over the surface multiple times to ensure the paint is well-distributed.
Step 1 - Surface Prep
Fill cracks, sand smooth, and apply 2 coats of clear primer on porous surfaces (3 coats for fresh plaster).
Step 2 - Mix Paint
Now pour all Part A into Part B and stir for at least 5 minutes.
Step 3 - Apply Paint
Apply paint within 1 hour of mixing. Use a roller and a brush to apply.
Step 4 - Dry & Cure
Apply one even coat of clear dry erase paint using a lint-free roller, ensuring full coverage.

Our transparent dry erase board paint is designed to be applied over colorful surfaces. We recommend painting full walls as if only a section of a wall is painted it may be noticeable as ambient light will reflect differently from the surface of the clear whiteboard paint when compared to colored paint.
Not recommended for white and light colors with beige, vanilla and similar tones.

Only if it's an absorbent surface such as a natural wood or concrete. Typically, the Clear Whiteboard Paint is applied to a painted color and does not require a primer.
What type of roller should you use for applying transparent whiteboard paint?
Each kit comes with a roller designed for use with transparent whiteboard paint. For optimal results, apply the paint with a mohair or lint-free short-pile roller sleeve. If you opt for a mohair roller, ensure that all loose fibers are removed before use.
Is clear whiteboard paint applicable to any surface?
Clear whiteboard paint can be applied to nearly any smooth surface (metal, glass, concrete, wood, etc.). If you are applying the paint over an already coloured surface, primer is not necessary. However, if applying it to an absorbent material like natural wood or polished concrete, our clear primer should be used as instructed. Clear whiteboard paint can be applied over any colour except for white.Â
Is painting glass with clear whiteboard paint fine?
You may apply Clear Whiteboard Paint directly onto glass.
Can you use clear dry erase paint on wood?
Yes. Make sure the surface is smooth before application. Fill in any holes with a filler. Apply Clear Primer before you use the clear dry erase board paint, sanding after each coat of primer and reapplying as necessary.
Can you apply clear whiteboard paint on wallpaper?
Yes, it is feasible to paint over wallpaper. You can use clear whiteboard paint on smooth wallpaper only. Avoid applying it to textured wallpaper. For a white finish, apply two coats of Whiteboard Primer. For a clear finish on porous wallpaper, use two coats of Clear Primer.
Can transparent dry erase paint be used outdoors?
Yes. Our product has been tested to endure temperatures as low as minus 16 degrees Celsius and is resistant to UV light (ultraviolet rays). However, the area should be sheltered and dry to ensure optimal performance. Please keep in mind that transparent dry erase board paint should not be stored for extended periods at sub-zero temperatures.
Can you apply transparent dry erase paint on the floor?
No, transparent dry erase paint has not been evaluated for slip resistance, and like any painted surface, it may wear depending on the amount of traffic. Our performance guarantee is limited to its use as a dry erase paint and does not cover other applications.
