FAQ's
General Product Questions
Is Silver Screen Paint compatible with both 2D and 3D Projectors?
Yes Silver Screen Paint is compatible with both 2D and 3D projectors, guaranteeing superior performance no matter the projection mode. When projecting a 3D image onto the paint, it flawlessly conveys the intended effect, delivering an immersive viewing experience when used with 3D glasses.
If all Smarter Surfaces products already support 3D projection, why should I choose Silver Screen Paint over them?
The gain value of the Silver Screen Paint is the highest in the range by far, designed specifically for 3D projection, because of its unique properties achieved by the silver technology. This means a very high level of light reflectivity without interfering with the polarity of the reflected light delivering an exceptional 3D experience.
What is the difference between white and silver screen paints?
Silver screen paint is designed to enhance light reflectively and image resolution, especially in rooms with ambient light. It is more reflective than white paint, which can help to improve image quality. White projector screen paint, on the other hand, is more suitable for dark rooms or environments with minimal ambient light.
Is a silver screen better than a white screen?
A silver screen is better suited for environments with low to medium ambient light, as it can help to reject that light and improve image quality. A white screen, on the other hand, is better suited for bright rooms or environments with high ambient light.
What are the primary use cases for Silver Screen Paint?
The primary use cases for Silver Screen Paint is for 3D projection including home theatres and commercial theatres.
Can Silver Screen Paint be used for commercial applications?
Yes, the Silver Screen Paint is designed for commercial applications, including movie theatres, conference rooms, and museums.
Is Silver Screen Paint more cost-effective than a traditional screen?
Yes, Silver Screen Paint can be more cost-effective than a traditional screen, especially for large or custom screen sizes.

What is the recommended lighting setup for Silver Screen Paint?
The recommended lighting setup for Silver Screen Paint is low or medium ambient lighting.
What type of projectors can be used with Silver Screen Paints?
Silver Screen Paints are suitable for use with 3D projectors ( HD, 4K, and 8K Projector) above 3000 lumens.
Can Silver Screen Paint be applied around people?
During the spraying process ensure the area is clear of people as the spraying process like all paint that is spray applied will create a spray mist which with disappear after a few minutes with ventilation after the spraying is completed and the area ventilated it is completely safe. There is a very low odor during the drying process and the VOC level is low.
How long does it take to create a projection screen using the Silver Screen Paint?

Minimum 12 Degrees to Maximum 28 Degrees with humidity below 80% which would be considered normal parameters for paint application via spray.
Surface Prep & Priming
Do I need to prime the surface before applying Silver Screen Paint for Projector?
We recommend applying Silver Screen Paint for Projector onto a previously primed or painted surface. Prime bare, untreated surfaces with two coats of White Primer.
Cleaning & Maintenance
How do I remove the paint from the skin?
Use warm water to clean the paint.
How can I clean my Silver Screen Paint screen?
Over time, dust can gather on your silver screen paint. Use a damp cloth with no detergent, and dab the surface clean and allow it to air dry.
Functionality & Performance
What Makes the Silver Screen Paints Acoustically Transparent?
The tests show that applying the paint does not change how sound is absorbed. A 12mm gypsum board has the same Sound Absorption Coefficient (α = 0.04-0.07) before and after painting. This means the paint doesn’t interfere with sound performance, making it acoustically transparent.
How does Silver Screen Paint maintain ‘Polarity’?
3D projectors operate by displaying two slightly different images that overlap on the screen. These images pass through specific optical filters, causing the light to be polarized differently for each projection. When you watch the two images using special 3D glasses, each lens obstructs one of the images, allowing your left eye to perceive one image while your right eye sees the other. Therefore, the projection screen you utilize mustn't alter the light's polarity when using a 3D projector. The 3D silver screen paint for projector is "polarity preserving," meaning that the image you observe will retain the same polarity as intended, thus maintaining the complete 3D effect.
